This is (or will be) a text-based role playing game where you can do anything you like. You can take actions that affect yourself and the world around you. See the roadmap for other actions you will soon be able to take.
Players will be able to create locations for others to explore, with monsters and NPCs to fight and interact with. If successful, it will become across between a game and a communal creative writing project.
The main mechanism will be that players draft and submit a Plan, which details what they will do, and what they expect the outcome to be. This Plan will then be evaluated by another player, who will determine whether it is possible for the Plan to have the effects described, and if so, approximately how long it will take.
See the manual for more information.
Currently players can make changes to how their character is perceived, and to the world around them, but nobody must review their actions and all actions are immediately successful.
The game is implemented as a static HTML page with no client side scripting as of yet. This means that there is no immediate feedback when typing. Later, I will add some client-side scripting to inform the user of which fields have unsaved changes etc. in real time.
There is very little styling in the site as a whole. This means it looks rather basic. At some point I’ll be updating the styling, but don’t expect flashy visuals, I am a fan of simplicity.
I am making the game available to very few people at this point as it’s very much incomplete. I have not implemented a way of blocking people from signing up, the only control against unwanted players is obscurity. If you are one of the lucky playtesters, please speak to me before directing anyone else to this site.
The “keep” area is going to be a starting area with some tutorials for new players. At some point I will add a mechanism to prevent non-“admin” users from modifying certain areas. For now, please do not modify any locations in the keep, including the gate. Go out to the road and build whatever you want.
